If the above fix doesn't work, you can also try the following:ġ) (For Windows) Control Panel > Sound > Playback > Find your default playback device and go Properties > Advanced > Change default format to "16 bit 44.1khz"Ģ) Change client from DX11 to DX9.

In Windows 10: Sound Settings > Sound > Advanced Sound Options "App volume and device preferences" > Find "Final Fantasy XIV" in the list and change the "Output" device (top entry) to anything other than what it is currently set to, then BACK to what it is intended to be to. Switching the device to something else then back to the correct device forces the audio device to be updated correctly. It appears that after the Endwalker update, the audio device set for Combat sounds was either missing or set to a non-primary device. Source: ĭoing the following has fixed this issue for a lot of people. If you have your default playback device set to default to 48khz, you may be experiencing this issue. Endwalker spell sound effects supposedly are sampled at 44.1khz. It appears others are having other audio issues that may/may not be related:

Disabling Bluetooth (I was not using it for audio) did not do anything.

Updating Windows from May to November cumulative patch did not fix the issue. Reinstalling the game did not fix this issue If this fails, I will post my System Information in this thread. I am currently in the process of reinstalling/downloading the game to see if I can get the sound to work in DX11. Tried changing Windows default sample rate to 44.1kHz (from 48kHz). Muted and Unmuted Sound Effects in-game using both System Configuration and the /soundeffects and /soundeffects 100 chat commands Music and UI sound effects worked correctly. I had no battle/spell sound effects after logging into Endwalker for the first time.
